Teach Digital Tools I and II classes in the undergraduate design program. Focus is on design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and QuarkXPress. Although the classes are centered on introducing the interfaces and technical use of the software, allowing students to explore different applications of the programs in various design contexts is also emphasized.

Design and produce editorial layouts for Today’s Christian and Men of Integrity magazines. Provide graphic design direction to the editorial team. Collaborate with editorial team to develop the most effective designs for each issue. Demonstrate solid knowledge of design software for image creation/manipulation and page layout. Responsible for identifying, hiring, and directing freelance artists as well as managing art budgets. Redesigned Christian Reader into Today’s Christian magazine to give it a more contemporary look to appeal to a wider demographic. Involved in various corporate design projects ranging from the design of internal communication projects to corporate-wide presentations.

Primarily focusing on website development, worked with the clients to determine the best design solution for that business. Functioning as the sole creative design resource, redesigned company website and developed identity system for the corporate literature. Researched, developed and documented a process for website graphic design and development that would serve as the standard procedure for the development group. Collaborated with the technical team to ensure that the graphic process would work seamlessly with the technical process.

Designed and implemented functional and effective user interfaces and graphics for internal learning products. Graphic components included overall visual interface design, navigational elements, content illustrations, GIF animations, graphics for digital video, and package design for both CD-ROM and intranet applications. Responsibilities ranged from art direction to production. Collaborated with learning architects and technical team to ensure that the graphics visually enhance the product, support the learning objectives of the course, and function within the technical architecture.

Involved in development of large-scale CD-ROM based training application focused on teaching a key business process methodology. Collaborated with project managers, content experts, technical team, and graphic designers to create an immersive goal-based scenario in which learners engaged in complex activities online. Other responsibilities included conducting needs assessments, performing product testing, and assisting maintaining a program area curriculum.
